WHAT IS RISKY BUSINESS?

“Risky Business” is the danger of you not knowing who you are. You have been exposed to relentless images on television, in movies, music videos, and the Internet. You are constantly inundated with conflicting messages about who you should be.

These influences are causing you to say things like… “I’m too fat”, or “I’m too short” or “I wish I could look like that.” You’ve begun to judge yourself based on an unrealistic standard set by the media. People you don’t even know and will probably never meet are telling you what you should look like and how you should act. And most of you have been listening.

When you don’t have a good understanding of who you are, you begin to become confused and lose perspective of what’s real. Add “relationship drama” to the mix and that takes confusion to a whole new level you’ve never experienced.

Now you have questions like …”Why doesn’t he like me”? “Am I not good enough?” “What does she have that I don’t have?” or you start making statements like… “I love him and I really trust him” or I can’t live without him.”

Once you start to question yourself or look for answers from others it often leads to bad decision making.

Realize that a relationship is like a game you been forced to play without knowing the rules. You don’t have to play those unspoken rules; you can make up your own.
